In all seriousness, this is an interesting read no matter your Welsh connections. The ideas posited in the text truly made me think. I would highly recommend this book.
Some of the history alluded to is a bit hard to seem credible, but the general point that the Welsh were in the USA before Columbus is almost irrefutable.
It is interesting and I applaud the author on writing about a little reported part of history. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is the same information is repeated by different sources and my personal preference would to list it once and cite both sources.
I am from southeast Alabama and the area of Mobile Bay is dear to my heart. Coming from Welsh ancestry, I have always been fascinated by the story of Prince Madoc as a legend. Now, as an adult I am drawn to the actual historical and geographical facts that do give credence to the Madoc;and Welsh "Indians" (I am also of Native American ancestry, so the term Indian is not a favorite) encountered by later explorers.
Historians, like politicians, often allow the sway of special interest groups to decide what to change and what not to change I have long felt that the Columbus discovery of America was incorrect, and that indeed sea going peoples were making the trips before Chis Columbus.
This book is filled with information which should be savored, and the historical facts in the mapping and discoveries in the interior of the country we love, is well worth the read.
